Episode 1: Space is the Place

Welcome to the very first official episode of The Theme Show: “Space Is the Place“.

This episode marks the podcast’s debut beyond demo territory, setting the stage for what’s to come.

Some tracks may sound familiar from the original “Space” demo. After a five-and-a-half-year hiatus—and without a recording of the initial Shoutcast—the early podcast episodes revisited those formative ideas with a fresh lens.

The series launched on Libsyn, and episodes were simultaneously distributed through iTunes.

Originally aired on June 27, 2006, this episode dives into the expansive theme of outer space. Later versions of the concept may focus on more specific elements—such as planets, satellites, stars, and so on—but this one encompasses the big picture.

Recreated versions of the original podcast setlists are now available below. Due to changes in streaming music catalogs over time, some tracks from the early episodes may be unavailable.
