Exciting news! The Theme Show has a New Domain

It’s been a long, strange journey for the Theme Show, as it moves once more to a new domain.

This past December (2024), the show celebrated twenty-five years since the first pilot episode. In that time, the site has changed domain names at least twice. Today, I say farewell to my former domain name and host and move everything once again.

I had hoped to retain my domain name, which a friend of mine owns and maintains. Unfortunately, he has distanced himself from social media, text, and email for several years.

My passwords were no longer working. I was receiving errors stating that the SQL was outdated, and attempts to communicate for updates were unsuccessful.

As such, my ability to upload through FTP was non-existent. WordPress could not handle content through the upload manager that was large enough to post the older podcast files. I sincerely wanted to keep that older content available for the listeners who had been with me from the beginning.

Despite several attempts to overhaul and update the site, I would get so far only to hit another roadblock, and ultimately decided it was best if I were in control of the whole thing. Ultimately, I required more flexibility in the hopes of expanding into a web store, Patreon, and Discord channel.

I appreciate the fact that he hosted it so many years out of his pocket (despite my many attempts to insist on paying).

The decision to make this move to a new domain did not come lightly.

I hope to create regular content shortly. A new Theme Show is currently in the works, along with a new episode of Dance Music for Old People, now available. I hope that tides you all over for now.

In the meantime, I will work to transfer everything and ensure that everything works correctly.
