Episode 5: A Week in 1 Hour, 18 Minutes and 26 Seconds

Welcome to the fifth episode of The Theme Show, we’re just going to call it “Weekdays” for short.

Another extremely long title that I do NOT feel like typing out upon revision, especially as it is not necessarily valid in the streaming versions anymore.

This edition features songs that have the names of weekdays in the titles. Somewhere in the middle is a big ‘ole warp because I had no Tuesday or Wednesday songs, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it. For fun, I began and ended this set with the Monkees. Don’t know why; it was just a whim.

Apparently, “Someday” by Aldo Nova was mislabeled so many years ago as “Sunday”, hence its inclusion here as a day of the week.

Cleaning up the website here in 2025, I feel like it might have been a missed opportunity not to use “Seasons of Love” from the musical RENT. But hey, that’s always an option for a future list!

Recreated versions of the original podcast setlists are now available below. Due to changes in streaming music catalogs over time, some tracks from the early episodes may be unavailable.
